The Maharaja of Jodhpur is an exclusive and insightful documentation of the life of one of India's most distinguished royals, His Highness The Maharajah Gaj Singh II of Marwar- Jodhpur.

The film tells the story of “the boy who-would-be-king”, enthroned at age 4, his trials and tribulations over the tumultuous years of historical change and of his quest to be a “Modern Maharaja”.

This extravagant docu-feature was filmed over a year and documents the life and lifestyle of the Maharaja, along-with incredible living traditions, festivals, ceremonial pageantry and a lifestyle of regal splendor.

The Royal Durbar - celebrating the 50th year of his coronation - a glittering historical occasion.

Akha Teej Durbar- when the Rathore’s sip saffron water (formerly opium), from their Maharaja's palm.

Dusshera Durbar- where ties with the Rathore clan are renewed, with the anointing of swords, by the Maharaja.

Birthday Celebrations- formal durbars, royal processions and ritual greetings by women, dressed in their traditional best.

A glamorous royal lifestyle- polo, vintage cars, courtly dance performances, vibrant festivals, ceremonial processions and exclusive footage of the “Raj” era of princely India.

The docu-feature has unique access to the royal family - the charismatic Maharaja, the indomitable Rajmata Krishna Kumari, the effervescent Maharani Hemlata Rajye, the charming Princess Shivranjani Rajye and ‘Prince of Hearts’ Yuvraj Shivraj Singh.
